We’re Expanding: Atila Adds Jewelry Manufacturing in China

We’re excited to share that Atila has expanded its global manufacturing network into China, adding new manufacturing capacity with a focus on stainless steel jewelry.

For our customers, this means more capacity, more manufacturing options, and access to one of the world’s deepest stainless steel manufacturing ecosystems, all managed with the same Atila standards, oversight, and accountability our clients already know and trust.

This has been in the works for some time, and we’re excited to finally be producing.

Why We Expanded to China

The jewelry business is changing, and one of the clearest shifts we’ve seen over the last couple of years has been the growth of stainless steel.

More brands are adding stainless to their assortments. Some are looking for a more accessible retail price point. Others want more predictable product costs as gold and silver prices move. Larger brands also need materials and processes that work when production starts getting into serious volume.

For us, it became important to have direct manufacturing capabilities in stainless steel.

There are plenty of places in the world where you can manufacture stainless steel jewelry. But China has built an incredibly deep ecosystem around it. Casting, polishing, assembly, plating, tooling and other specialties are all readily available within a very mature manufacturing network.

That creates tremendous capability.

It can also make manufacturing more complicated if you don’t know exactly how your product is being made.

That was the part that mattered to us.

We Didn’t Just Want Another Factory

One of the things we’ve learned from manufacturing jewelry around the world is that who is responsible for the entire process matters just as much as where something is being made.

In China, manufacturing can be highly specialized. One operation may cast the product, another may polish it, another may handle assembly, and another may finish or plate it.

There is nothing inherently wrong with specialization. It is one of the reasons China can manufacture such a broad range of products so efficiently.

But that was not the model we wanted for Atila.

We wanted a manufacturing partner capable of managing the process A-to-Z under one operation, because that gives us better visibility into production and much clearer accountability.

If there is an issue, we don’t want three different vendors pointing at each other. We want to be able to identify where the issue happened, address it and move forward.

As Atila puts it: “Everything’s on us. So if there’s any issues, we can quickly identify it and fix it.”

That philosophy isn’t new for us. It is how we approach our manufacturing in Los Angeles, Indonesia, Armenia, Italy, and elsewhere. China needed to meet that same standard. We’ve also made trips to the factory to ensure they meet our manufacturing standards and processes. It’s important our customers know when they order from our company, we stand behind everything we make.

What This Means for Atila Customers

Adding China to our manufacturing network isn’t simply about adding another country to a list.

Today, our manufacturing network includes:

  • Indonesia
  • Armenia
  • United States / Los Angeles
  • Italy
  • China

It gives our customers another strong production option, with more capacity, more flexibility, and access to additional manufacturing capabilities while still working through the same Atila team.

Each country and manufacturing location also brings its own areas of expertise. We may produce gold pieces in Italy or Los Angeles, stainless steel in China, and work with a range of metals and processes across our other manufacturing locations.

The benefit of working with Atila is that you don’t have to figure out which country, factory, or manufacturing process makes the most sense on your own. We use our experience, global capacity, and knowledge of logistics, imports, and tariffs to determine the right production approach for each project, with the goal of delivering the best product at the right price and within the right timeline.

More Manufacturing Capacity

We can support more stainless steel production and larger programs without relying on a single manufacturing location.

For growing jewelry brands, capacity matters. What works for an initial collection or smaller production run may not be the right manufacturing setup once a product starts moving into larger retail programs or higher-volume distribution.

Our China expansion gives us another way to support that growth.

Stronger Stainless Steel Capabilities

Stainless steel has become an increasingly important material for jewelry brands, particularly where cost, durability and volume all matter.

It also works especially well with PVD plating, which can provide a durable finish while helping brands reach more accessible retail price points.

Adding direct stainless steel manufacturing capability allows us to help brands develop these products with the same manufacturing experience we already bring to gold, silver, brass and other jewelry programs.

More Flexibility

One of the biggest advantages we can give our customers is options.

Manufacturing conditions change. Material pricing changes. Tariffs change. Logistics change. A product that makes sense to manufacture one way today may make more sense somewhere else a year from now.

Atila already works across multiple manufacturing locations, including Indonesia, Armenia, Los Angeles, China and Italy for chain manufacturing.

That means we aren’t forced to approach every project from one country or one manufacturing model.

We can look at the product, material, volume, cost considerations and current manufacturing environment, then determine the best approach for that particular program.

Experienced Oversight From Development Through Delivery

Finding a factory is only one part of manufacturing jewelry overseas.

The harder part is managing everything that happens afterward.

Our team understands the production requirements, quality expectations, logistics and coordination involved in getting a product from development into finished production and ultimately into our customer’s hands.

We also have the advantage of our Los Angeles operation, which gives us another layer of flexibility when products need local finishing, additional work or closer coordination in the U.S.

Our role is not simply to place an order with a factory. We manage the process.

China Expands Our Network. It Doesn’t Replace It.

We’ve never believed there is one country that is automatically the right place to manufacture every piece of jewelry.

Different materials, products, volumes and business models have different requirements.

That is why we’ve continued building manufacturing capabilities in different parts of the world rather than concentrating everything in one location.

China now becomes another important part of that network, particularly as stainless steel continues to become a larger part of the jewelry market.

For customers already working with Atila, the biggest change is simple: we have more capability behind us.

More stainless steel capacity.
More production options.
More flexibility when market conditions change.

And the same Atila team responsible for making sure the product meets the standards our customers expect.

We’re excited about what this adds to our manufacturing capabilities, and even more excited about what it allows us to build with our customers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is Atila expanding jewelry manufacturing into China?

The expansion gives Atila additional manufacturing capacity and direct access to China’s highly developed stainless steel jewelry manufacturing ecosystem. We have seen increasing demand for stainless steel from jewelry brands and wanted the ability to support that demand directly while maintaining Atila’s standards for production oversight, quality and accountability.

Is Atila moving all of its manufacturing to China?

No. China is an addition to Atila’s global manufacturing network, not a replacement for it.

Atila has manufacturing capabilities across multiple locations, including Indonesia, Armenia, the United States/Los Angeles, China and Italy for chains. Having multiple production options allows us to determine the appropriate manufacturing approach based on the specific project.

What type of jewelry will Atila manufacture in China?

Our expansion into China is particularly focused on stainless steel jewelry manufacturing. Stainless steel has become increasingly important for brands looking for durable products, accessible price points and production that can scale to larger volumes.

How does Atila manage quality when manufacturing in China?

Atila specifically looked for a manufacturing partner capable of handling production A-to-Z rather than relying on a fragmented group of unrelated vendors.

That gives our team greater visibility into the production process and creates clearer accountability. If an issue occurs, we can identify where it happened and work directly with the manufacturing operation to address it.

Why are more jewelry brands interested in stainless steel?

From what we’re seeing directly in the market, several factors are happening at the same time.

Gold and silver pricing has made precious-metal costs more difficult for brands to predict. Consumers are also looking for products at more accessible price points, while larger jewelry brands need products that can be manufactured consistently at meaningful volume.

Stainless steel gives brands another option. It doesn’t necessarily replace gold or silver. In many cases, it gives a brand another category or price point to add to its assortment.

Can Atila help brands manage international manufacturing and logistics?

Yes. Managing international production has been a core part of Atila’s business for years.

Our manufacturing network spans multiple countries, and our team has significant experience coordinating production and logistics across those locations. That experience also gives us more options when tariffs, material costs, logistics or other manufacturing requirements change.

Which brands is Atila manufacturing in China for?

We manufacture for a multitude of brands, including Jaxxon, Aurate, LuLaRoe, and others. However, due to NDAs and other considerations, we’re unable to directly advertise which brands will be manufacturing with us in China.

We can share, however, that some of these brand programs and expansions already have a presence with major retailers.
